About

Skopje

Born in Skopje, Macedonia, Milka moved to the United States at a young age and finished her elementary to high school education in Maryland.

Her first passion in life involved training for the art of ballet for 15 years. This led her to dance professionally with the Macedonian Opera and Ballet while being enrolled full-time for a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Management at the South East European University in Skopje.

Her interest in the interaction between people and technology steered her sights in the field of Human-Computer Interaction at the Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis, Indiana where she received a Ph.D. Currently, she is a research scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology exploring co-creative AI dance agents.

Her research agenda harnesses AI technology to elevate human capability in movement assessment, learning, rehabilitation, and creation.
